Q. What is Kingfisher Community Collaborative,
Inc.?
A. A group of interested community leaders who wanted to help gather the resources to help families in our area succeed.
Q. When was the group formed?
A. Kingfisher Community Collaborative, Inc. was initially organized in 1997.
Q. Why haven't I heard of it before?
A. Well, up to this point, we've focused more on assisting our school system as well as helping to get families in crisis to the appropriate area help agencies and organizations. Recently, however, we've stepped up efforts to add more services ... specifically in the school system.
Q. How might it impact me?
A. If you have school aged children, you've probably already been impacted. One of our first efforts was to help the Kingfisher School System increase their drug awareness and prevention program. You may have attended a program for families that we helped sponsor.
Q. Are the services just for residents of Kingfisher?
A. The primary focus of our collaborative is in Kingfisher, specifically
the schools and school-aged children. However, since many of the
agencies involved in the collaborative are county-wide, many of the
services extend into other communities in Kingfisher County.
